TACOMA, Wash. -

A jury in Tacoma begins deliberations Tuesday in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a 16-year-old developmentally disabled girl in Puyallup.

Twenty-one-year-old Tyler Savage faces life in prison without parole if convicted of aggravated murder in the August 2010 death of Kimberly Daily.

In closing arguments Monday, Pierce County prosecutors said she was strangled and raped.

KOMO reports Savage testified she died accidentally during consensual sex. His lawyer suggests a manslaughter conviction, which would carry a sentence of about five years.
