Bail was set at $1 million for a 26-year-old Meridian man charged with raping a woman he met online.
The Idaho Statesman reports Jeremy E. Threatt made an initial appearance before 4th District Magistrate Judge Theresa Gardunia on Tuesday on charges of sexual intercourse without consent and forcible penetration with a foreign object. Gardunia ordered a mental evaluation to determine if Threatt is competent to stand trial.
The woman reported she had met Threatt online and agreed to meet him at his house on Sunday. She said he raped her shortly after she arrived at his house.
Meridian Police Lt. Jamie Leslie says the woman escaped the house, went to the hospital and called police.
Threatt was arrested Sunday.
