A farm worker is charged with shooting a fellow worker in a south-central Idaho potato field.
Officials in Minidoka County say deputies responded to a reported shooting in a farm field near Paul at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found 31-year-old Encornacion Duarte-Jabalera lying on the ground near the tractor he had been driving. He was taken to the hospital in Rupert and then flown to a hospital in Pocatello. Officials did not release the extent of his injuries or disclose any motive for the shooting.
The sheriff's office reports 36-year-old Rogelio Munoz Chavez of Paul was found hiding in sagebrush about a half a mile from where officers found his abandoned work vehicle.
Munoz Chavez was to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of aggravated battery with a weapons enhancement.
