BOISE, Idaho -

Idaho cycling advocates are honoring a Boise man who was struck and killed by a car in late September.

Victor Haskell was killed Sept. 26 after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident on a busy street west of downtown.

Representatives of the Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance, the Boise Bicycle Project and other cycling organizations have planned a "ride of silence" next Tuesday to remember Haskell, concluding with a visit to the site on State Street where he was killed.

Gavin Bradford Haley has been charged in Idaho's 4th District Court in Boise with a felony. Authorities say he left the scene of an accident.

Jimmy Hallyburton, Boise Bicycle Project director, said Haskell's death serves as a reminder that bike riders are everywhere and drivers should watch out for them.
