Baker City, OR -

A court hearing for a 14-year-old boy accused of killing two Baker County men was postponed Thursday because the state requested a different judge.

The Blue Mountain Eagle and Baker City Herald reported that the motion was granted at a hearing Wednesday in Canyon City. Under Oregon law, an attorney is not required to cite a specific reason for seeking a new judge as long as the motion is made in good faith and is not a delay tactic.

The boy is accused of fatally shooting his foster father and another man at a hunting camp near Granite on Oct. 3.

He is being held at the Northern Oregon Regional Corrections Facility in The Dalles.
