A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday to vehicular homicide and vehicular assault in a 2012 crash that killed one woman and left others impaled on fence posts in Spanaway.
The Tacoma News Tribune reports Joshua R. White faces a prison term of between nine and 12 years when he's sentenced Sept. 27 in Pierce County Superior Court. Judge John McCarthy allowed White to remain at large on electronic home monitoring until then.
White wrote in court papers that he had been drinking at a party. Breath tests showed his blood-alcohol level at .13 percent, well above the legal limit of .08 percent.
A 23-year-old female passenger died when the vehicle rolled on top of her. At least three others were impaled on fence posts.
