EVERETT, Wash. -

A Stanwood man who fought with a Snohomish County sheriff's deputy pleaded guilty Thursday to assault and possessing a stolen vehicle.

The Daily Herald reports 29-year-old Duane Sanders will be sentenced Monday in Everett.

The deputy tried to arrest Sanders in October while recovering a stolen pickup truck. Sander resisted and ran into nearby woods with handcuffs on one wrist. A search was unsuccessful but he surrendered the next day, still wearing handcuffs.
