A Great Falls cosmetology school that was sued last summer by 15 former students has closed.
The Great Falls Tribune reports Dahl's College of Beauty closed on Aug. 22.
Last summer, the former students filed a civil lawsuit in federal court alleging they were expelled after filing complaints about unprofessional conduct by instructors, sexual harassment by an instructor who later became director of the college and violations of licensing rules. They are seeking a refund of their tuition.
Dahl's is owned by Douglas and Barbara Daughenbaugh of Corvallis and Philip Belangie of Missoula. Their attorney, Bob Murdo, said the closing was due in large part to the lawsuit and the adverse news coverage that followed. He said the college denies the allegations.
Douglas Dahl opened the cosmetology school in 1970.
