KALISPELL, Mont. -

Visitors to Glacier National Park should expect delays as crews begin working to repair stone veneer and guardrails damaged by avalanches.

The Flathead Beacon reports that drivers traveling through Going-to-the-Sun Road's west tunnel can expect delays to be around 15 minutes. Flaggers will be directing traffic in the area during the day, while a temporary traffic light will control traffic flow at night.

The focus of the guardrail rehabilitation project is on areas below Oberlin Road.

Traffic control for other projects is expected in various spots throughout September, including work between Apgar and Lake McDonald Lodge on the west side. Work will also be done at the St. Mary Entrance, with traffic diverted through the visitor center parking area on the east side.
