Former US Sen. Craig addresses UI graduates
Former U.S. Sen. Larry Craig challenged dozens of freshly minted college graduates to become leaders in their families, communities and nation during a commencement address in eastern Idaho.
The Republican -- who retired in 2009 after his political career was rocked by a sex sting arrest -- made a rare public appearance Thursday at the University of Idaho satellite campus in Idaho Falls.
The Post Register reports that Craig challenged the 70 graduates to take ambitious steps in life now that they've earned college degrees.
Craig also spoke about energy and the role the industry has had in building the country and putting people to work.
Craig was arrested in 2007 by an undercover police officer conducting a sting operation against men cruising for sex at a Minneapolis airport.
