A big wildfire burning west of resort communities of Ketchum and Hailey destroyed one structure and forced evacuation of six residences while growing significantly.
By Thursday morning, the Beaver Creek Fire had torched 68 square miles, prompting deployment of 500 firefighters, numerous air tankers and other resources in a bid to slow its advance.
In 2007, Ketchum and the Sun Valley ski area were threatened by another big fire, memories of which are still fresh in residents' minds as smoke drifts in and impairs air quality for thousands of tourists.
Already, it's having an impact: A singer, Josh Ritter, canceled his concert there Wednesday evening.
Gov. Butch Otter is planning to tour the Beaver Creek Fire and other Idaho blazes on Friday with U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell.
