The Pierce County, Wash., fire marshal says a house fire that killed a Fox Island doctor and his 8-year-old daughter was an accidental, electrical blaze.
The News Tribune reports Fire Marshal Warner Webb says that the Dec. 4 fire appears to have started in the electrical wiring, inside the walls in the attic and between the first and second floor of the nearly 7,000-square-foot home.
The fire killed 62-year-old Dr. Thomas Babson and his daughter, Alice.
Babson's wife, June, their 12-year-old daughter Katie, and 8-year-old son Tobey survived the fire. Tobey and Alice were twins.
Webb says the county investigation is over but insurance crews will try to get more specifics about exactly what happened. The kitchen and dining area sustained the most damage.
