TROUTDALE, Ore. -

About 1,000 students at a Portland-area high school were locked into a homecoming dance Friday night after false reports about an armed man in the area.

KOIN-TV reports school officials received a call about an armed person in the area at about 9 p.m. on Friday.

The students at the dance were immediately put on lock-in and an alert was sent to the parents.

Parents arrived and took the students home.

No one was hurt.
