Police arrested a bookkeeper accused of embezzling $175,000 from the Western Lumber Company in Medford.
Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau says company officials notified the department about unusual fund transfers in January, a couple months after bookkeeper Amanda Shannon was fired for unrelated reasons.
Budreau says investigators found that Shannon deposited company money into her personal credit card account and the account of a boyfriend who lives with her in Central Point.
The 34-year-old Shannon was booked into the Jackson County Jail on theft charges. Bail was set at $75,000.
Her boyfriend, 35-year-old Kevin Chestnut, was also charged with theft, but is free until trial.
