An emergency medical technician is in critical condition and five other people were injured after a car struck an ambulance on U.S. Highway 95 north of Boise.
The Idaho State Police says the ambulance was transporting a patient to Weiser Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon when it was struck by a northbound car. The car's driver swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of it, which had slowed to yield to the ambulance.
EMT's Sandra Sova and Jonathon Dickinson were in the back of the ambulance and were not belted in.
The Idaho Statesman reports Sova, who is 61, was listed in critical condition at a Boise hospital Wednesday morning while Dickinson, 41, was serious.
The ambulance driver, the patient and two people in the car were taken to the hospital in Weiser.
