CHUBBUCK, Idaho -

A pit bull-terrier mix named Angel has been declared a vicious dog in eastern Idaho after attacking a 3-year-old girl.

Chubbuck Police Patrol Lt. Bill Guiberson says the girl received bite wounds to her leg and bites to her face deep enough to cause damage to her gums in the March 16 attack.

Guiberson tells KIFI-TV that the dog owner has a number of options.

Those include appealing the decision or having the dog euthanized.

The owner can also keep the dog in the city but will have to get $500,000 in liability insurance, build an enclosed kennel, put up signs warning of a vicious dog, and tattoo his Social Security number on the dog's lip, ear and thigh.

With the sheriff's approval, the dog could be moved outside the city.
