The family of a 5-year-old girl in the small Columbia River Gorge town of Dufur is fighting to keep her rooster.
Ayla Macnab bought Dallas the rooster with her own money and has been preparing to show him in 4H.
But a recent noise complaint brought a letter from the city saying the rooster had to go.
Ayla's mother, Jill Macnab, told KPTV she hoped the city would make an exception. She says the only complaint came from someone who lives two blocks away.
The family has asked for a meeting with a nuisance abatement officer.
