Medford, OR -

Police in Central Point, Ore., are investigating concerns that a staff member at Crater High School had inappropriate contact with a student.

Superintendent Samantha Steele told the Mail Tribune that administrators alerted police Friday after learning about the possibility of misconduct.

Police and school officials declined to name the person involved or explain the nature of the contact.

Steele says the staff member is "an instructional assistant" who has not been at school since the allegation surfaced.
