A 30-year-old felon has been charged with gunning down another man in South Seattle 11 years ago.
King County prosecutors on Wednesday filed second-degree murder charges against San Saeyang, who is currently serving time in prison in Monroe for robbery and burglary.
Saeyang is accused of gunning down Bounma Khammanivong outside his South Seattle apartment in 2003. He is to be arraigned Aug. 13.
Police said Thursday that a cold case homicide detective took up the case in September with the help of King County prosecutors, who flagged it for review.
Court documents say Saeyang confessed to the killing when the detective interviewed him in prison in May. He allegedly told the detective he didn't intend to kill the victim.
