Cadaver-related injury costs Snohomish County $495,000
Snohomish County has agreed to pay $495,000 to settle a lawsuit with a former death investigator who had accused the medical examiner of workplace retaliation and failing to accommodate her disability.
The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/19LgyiN) the county admits no wrongdoing in the deal that was approved Wednesday by the county council.
Shannon Impett of Granite Falls had suffered a back injury while moving a cadaver and was seeking alternative work assignments when she was let go in 2011.
The Snohomish County medical examiner's office employes 14 people.
