A Billings man whose string of armed robberies culminated in the kidnapping and killing of an Illinois man faces a possible life term as he goes before a Montana judge for sentencing.
Simon Elliot Jacobson is due to appear before District Judge Gregory Todd on Tuesday after pleading guilty to aggravated kidnapping and deliberate homicide in the January death of Dejuan Laster.
He's also pleaded guilty to robbing 11 casinos in Billings and Livingston in the year leading up to Laster's killing.
Under a deal with prosecutors Jacobson could spend life in prison without parole.
Authorities say Jacobson and a co-defendant posed as FBI agents to kidnap Laster from his Billings motel room. The victim was robbed of $8,000, driven to a rural area and shot by Jacobson.
