A Bigfork man has pleaded guilty to negligent vehicular assault for a crash in which his truck hit a motorcycle, causing the passenger on the motorcycle to have her left leg amputated.
The Daily Inter Lake reports 47-year-old Brent Passwater entered his plea on Oct. 18. A second negligent vehicular assault charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.
Prosecutors say Passwater's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit on July 11, 2012 when he struck a motorcycle while making a left turn off of Montana Highway 83 northeast of Bigfork.
The driver of the motorcycle suffered a broken left foot.
Passwater's sentencing is set for Jan. 2.
