Witnesses say plane broke up before Ore. crash
Witnesses to the crash of a small aircraft in the Willamette Valley say it appeared to have broken up in flight.
The two-seater craft crashed Monday afternoon in a pasture near Albany, killing the two people aboard. They were 45-year-old Jeff Earl "Tebo" Kropf of Halsey and 46-year-old Timothy Dean Carter of Portland.
Jenissa Currey, a 17-year-old junior, was driving home from Scio High School when she saw the plane. She tells the Albany Democrat-Herald it had only one wing, and it wasn't fully put together.
Tom Bishop was on his way to work at Albany and says it appeared the plane had no wings, or they were wrapped around the plane, which appeared to be a big ball.
