CHELAN, Wash. -

The Forest Service said a 250-acre wildfire near Chelan calmed down overnight.

Spokeswoman Robin DeMario said it's about 15 percent contained.

About 80 firefighters and three helicopters are hitting the fire Friday in hope of knocking it down before the day grows hotter. The temperature is expected to climb into the 90s.

The fire broke out Thursday afternoon in grass and brush in the Navarre Coulee area.
Residents of one home were told to evacuate and residents of a couple of dozen homes were told to prepare to evacuate.
