BOTHELL, Wash. -

Police say a security guard shot a 15-year-old boy Friday morning in the parking lot of the Food and Drug Administration Seattle regional office in Bothell.

Sgt. Cedric Collins says Bothell police received a call about 7 a.m. saying the guard had contacted a suspicious person in the parking lot. Another call a few minutes later said shots had been fired.

Collins says the teen was hit and while driving away he collided with another vehicle on the Bothell-Everett Highway. He was taken to Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are questioning the guard and investigating what the teen was doing in the suburban business park.
