A Billings man has pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution after authorities said he encouraged his girlfriend to sell herself to raise his $500 bail after he was charged with assaulting the woman.
The Billings Gazette reports 33-year-old David Earl Luginbuhl entered his guilty plea Thursday before District Judge Mary Jane Knisely. Under the plea agreement, prosecutors plan to ask for five years in state custody with two suspended when Luginbuhl is sentenced on May 28. He remains jailed.
Luginbuhl admitted that while jailed last March, he had numerous telephone conversations with his girlfriend about raising bail money through prostitution and discussed prices for various sex acts. The calls were recorded by an automated system at the jail.
