BOISE, Idaho -

A federal border patrol agent has been charged with aggravated assault and using a weapon during a felony in Idaho because prosecutors say he held a loaded gun to a man's head.

The Idaho Statesman reports 32 -year-old Israel Eureste, who is from Douglas, Ariz., was arrested early Sunday after police were called to a Boise home to investigate a report of a fight.

The Ada County prosecutor's office says Eureste, who was visiting family members, apparently got into a confrontation with the alleged victim over broken beer bottles in the street. Prosecutors say Eureste put the man in a headlock and pointed a loaded gun at his head, claiming he could pull the trigger because he is a federal agent.

A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 17.
