Fire department officials say three workers were injured Thursday afternoon in an accident at a Seattle office building construction site.
KOMO-TV reports that the three were working near a conveyor belt when it malfunctioned. Fire officials say two people working in a pit about 75 feet below street level suffered ankle injuries. They were lifted by crane to waiting ambulances.
A third worker at street level suffered a head injury. All were taken to Harborview Medical Center and were expected to survive.
Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore says the challenge was getting the workers out of the pit, so firefighters used the crane that was there.
