PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -

The Kitsap County sheriff's office says detectives resolved a shooting and a stabbing by determining the injuries were self-inflicted and the "victims" lied.

On Wednesday, a 24-year-old woman said she was stabbed by a man while walking near her home east of Bremerton. She was airlifted to a Seattle hospital while deputies searched for the suspect. Investigators found her wound was self-inflicted and arrested her Thursday for false reporting and obstructing law enforcement.

On Monday, a 16-year-old boy said he was shot in the abdomen as he left a school bus near Silverdale. Investigators discovered he was taking a bullet apart with a pair of pliers when it went off, sending fragments of shell casing into his body.

He was booked into juvenile detention Wednesday on a false report charge.
