Police in Hamilton have released the name of a 61-year-old woman whose body was found behind a grocery store several days after she was evicted from her apartment.
Police Chief Ryan Oster says the body of Linda M. Shelley was found Feb. 16. Initial reports indicated she appeared to have died from exposure, but Oster says the coroner is still investigating the cause of death.
Shelley was evicted from her apartment on Feb. 7 and was reported missing four days later. Police were unable to locate her and then listed her with the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.
Oster says initial report indicates Shelley lived at several locations in the Hamilton area over the past year and had received assistance from several community members and organizations.
