Cellphone video is giving an inside look to the officer involved shooting on Interstate 90 that left one person in critical condition Sunday morning.
“I just pulled out my camera and started recording the event that was happening," Julian Mosher said.
Mosher said he was on his way home around 2 am when he came across flashing lights on the on-ramp at Spokane Street.
"We were looking to see what was going on but they told us to back up," Mosher said.
What the 16-year-old didn't expect was to catch a firearm exchange on his shattered iPhone. The one minute 26 second video has 50 seconds worth of firearm sounds.
"Sounded like fireworks," Jason Visnaw said. "Then I stuck my head out the door, it wasn't fireworks it was gunshots."
People living near the scene said that it was enough to wake them up.
"I heard the shots fired a second time and that's when I kind of freaked out," Benjamin Aleck said.
The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Post Falls Police Department, Coeur d'Alene Police Department and Idaho State Police were involved in the shooting. The incident left one man, who is said to be a suspect in the incident, in critical condition. Those are all the details that will be released tonight.
“There's a lot of information," Lt. Stu Miller with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office said. "It's a very critical incident as far as involving four agencies so you have to piece things together one thing at a time."
The Bonner County Sheriff's Office will lead the investigation.
