Authorities are searching for a child who was taken by his biological, non-custodial father from a campground in the Bumblebee area in late August and has not been seen since.
The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office said that they received a report from a woman on August 24 that she and her sons were camping in the Bumblebee area when that William Shedd, 63, the biological father of her two sons, visited the campsite.
Shedd got into an argument with his 15-year-old son and then he and his 11-year-old son, Elan Shedd, got into his white van and left the campsite. They have not been seen or heard from since.
The sheriff's office reports that during their initial investigation into the incident they could not confirm whether or not William Shedd had custodial or visitation rights with his children, however they have since developed probable cause to charge Shedd with first degree custodial interference and a warrant was issued on Sept. 19 for his arrest.
William Shedd is described as a white male, 5'6" tall, 150 pounds with white hair and green eyes. He also goes by the names Paul LeBrun, Craig Shedd and William Shedd Sr. The van he was driving had Idaho license plates and he recently moved to the Coeur d'Alene area.
Elan Shedd is described as a white juvenile male, 4'11" tall, 70 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Elan or William Shedd you're asked to contact the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office at (208) 556-1114 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
