SANDPOINT, Idaho -

A Sandpoint city councilwoman has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports that 38-year-old Jamie Brunner made the plea Friday.

Brunner was arrested Nov. 14 on U.S. Highway 95 in Ponderay. Court records say she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20, nearly three times the legal limit of 0.08.

That was high enough to cause an excessive DUI charging enhancement, but that was dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.

Brunner is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 4. She faces up to six months in jail, a fine up to $1,000, and a 150-day suspension of her driver's license.

Brunner opted not to seek re-election, a decision made before the DUI arrest.
