A northern Idaho woman charged with killing a 2-year-old girl she was babysitting has waived her right to a speedy trial.

The Lewiston Tribune reports that Natasha N. Hodges, 29, of Lewiston on Wednesday waived her right to have the trial within six months of her arraignment.

Hodges pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder on April 17 in 2nd District Court.

Prosecutors say 2-year-old Rylee Mingo died of internal bleeding on Aug. 30 after being struck in the abdomen by Hodges.
