HAYDEN, Idaho -

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man suspected of robbing the Alpine Country Store near Hayden, ID early Saturday morning.

According to the store's clerk, a man entered the store brandishing a handgun at the clerk and stole an undetermined amount of currency from the register. The man then fled the store on foot in a southwesterly direction, across Highway 95.

The Sheriff's Office, assisted by the Coeur d'Alene Police Department and the Idaho State Police, set up a perimeter around the store and a KCSO K9 was called to the scene and attempted to track the male but was not successful locating him.

The suspect was described as being a white male in his mid to late twenties, about 5'9", 175 lbs, wearing a dirty gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black and white tennis shoes. The male also concealed his face with a gray scarf.
