MOSCOW, Idaho -

The Idaho State Board of Education is expected to name the University of Idaho's new president on Monday.

The Lewiston Tribune reports the board is scheduled to hold a special meeting Monday morning in the UI Administration Building at the Moscow campus.

The finalists include Penn State Erie Chancellor Donald Brix; University of Florida Senior Vice President for Agriculture and Natural Resources Jack Payne; University of South Dakota Provost Chuck Staben; South Dakota State University Provost Laurie Stenberg-Nichols; and higher education and philanthropy consultant James Applegate.

The UI's last president, Duane Nellis, left to lead Texas Tech University earlier this year.
