ST. MARIES, Idaho -

Emergency responders from several agencies rescued an elderly hunter who fell down an embankment in the St Joe region of Shoshone County Monday.

Charles Peterson, a 74-year old man from Calder, was chasing after an elk Monday afternoon when he fell 350-400 yards down an embankment on Lemonade Peak.

The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office, Benewah County Sheriff's Office, St Maries Ambulance and Fairchild Air Force Base all helped rescue Peterson. He was injured, but the extent of his injuries was not released by the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office.
