COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho -

Multi-millionaire Duane Hagadone made a big announcement Saturday night at the Hagadone Event Center in Coeur d'Alene.

The event went from 5-8:30 p.m. and kicked off with bag pipes, a color guard, national anthem and a fireworks display. Many guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers as Hagadone spoke about his plans to create the region's only 'mega marine center.'

The construction is expected to be finished by Spring 2017 and will include three buildings that cover more than 32,000 square feet of space for boat services.

The center will have up to 20 massive roll up door service bays, providing space for up to 40 technicians, something that Hagadone and the guests were very excited about.

"It's part of my business and everything I have I try and improve make it better, make it more friendly for people that enjoy the lake. I was born and raised on the lake and just about everybody who comes to town buys a house and buys a boat, so we have to be able to take care of them in grand fashion," says Hagadone.

"Oh, I think it's going to be a game changer and it's going to lead to steady growth for him," says John Tompkins, attendee of the event.

"Everything Mr. Hagadone touches makes the Coeur d'Alene environment better, and we are just excited to see what he will turn Blackwell Island into," says another guest, Phil Adams.

The developments are said to create growth opportunities for current staff and attract highly skilled technicians and boat builders which would equate to about 15 new jobs over the course of three years.

The Resort Boat Shop and Coeur Custom Wood Boats will no longer be operated at their location in Post Falls. They will be relocated to Hagadone Marine Group on Blackwell Island.
