COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

Coeur d’Alene Police are looking for a luring suspect who approached a 13-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon.

Officers are looking for the suspect in the vicinity of the 7700 block of Joanna Drive where the incident happened. According to the girl, she walked out to her mailbox near her house when an older white utility van pulled up and stopped on her street and a man started walking toward her.

The girl said the man was walking straight toward her and not the mailboxes she was walking toward. She became frightened, turned around and started running back to her house with the suspect now running after her. She went around to the back door, beat on it and when her mom let her in described what happened.

The girl described the suspect as a light colored Hispanic man, approximately 5'10." She didn't describe what kind of clothes he was wearing but did mention he was wearing a dark-colored beanie.

The van he was driving was a white older model utility van; the girl told authorities she did not see a front license plate, but did see the van had tinted windows and a curtain behind the front seats.

Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to call the Coeur d'Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320 or by e-mail at policetips@cdaid.org
