COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

With wildfire season in full swing, the Coeur d'Alene Interagency Fire Cache is staying busy, making sure firefighters have all the supplies they need on the ground.

"We're stocked and ready to go," said Steve McCombs, a firefighter and employee at the cache.

On Saturday, McCombs and other employees filled orders to help fight several wildfires across the region.

The cache has $7 million in supplies.

"Anything from the foot powder they'll use to the medical kits which covers all aspects, from small kits to kits that support 500 people," McCombs added.

On Friday, the cache filled an order and shipped it to Boise. Those supplies most likely will go to help fight the Beaver Creek Fire burning near Sun Valley.
The cache is one of 16 caches nationwide.

"All the national caches are pretty much a big team," said McCombs.

During fire season, the cache is open 24/7 and employees must be available on a moment's notice.

"I love it. You're either in fire or your not," McCombs added.

"Just knowing you make a difference. It's one of those things that at the end of the day you know you did something that was good," he said.
