Authorities say Thursday morning’s fire at the Idaho Department of Corrections office in Moscow is suspicious.
The blaze at the probation office on South Main on the edge of town was spotted around 8 a.m. Thursday. Moscow volunteer firefighters were able to knock down the flames in the attic after about half an hour.
Investigators have determined that the fire started on the outside of the building along the west wall. No one was inside when the fire started and no one was hurt.
Moscow police are working with fire officials on the investigation. Police Chief David Duke says they believe the perpetrator was on foot.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious around the probation office in Moscow between 7:30 and 8 a.m. is asked to contact the Moscow Police Department.
