SANDPOINT, Idaho -

A northern Idaho man charged with hog-tying his 12-year-old nephew to keep him from running away has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports Shane Lee Crawford of Laclede had been charged with felony injury to a child after the boy, who has a mild form of autism, was hog-tied a year ago. Crawford pleaded guilty Tuesday.

The plea agreement calls for a 180-day jail sentence with 135 days suspended and credit for 45 days served. The sentence would run concurrently with Crawford's sentence for misdemeanor injury to a child for choking his son.

Crawford would be under supervised probation into the fall of 2013.

Defense attorney Jeremy Featherston said his client has received counseling to help him be a better parent.
