The federal government has approved a scaled back proposal to clean up mining pollution in Idaho's Silver Valley, after residents and politicians complained the original plan was overkill.
The plan approved Tuesday would cost $635 Million and take up to 30 years.
A 2010 proposal would have spent $1.3 Billion over half a century.
The head of the EPA's Superfund office in Seattle calls the approval an important milestone.
