MOSCOW, Idaho -

A standoff ended peacefully in Moscow Wednesday morning.

Around 5 a.m., police responded to a report of an armed, suicidal man who fired a shot outside his house on South Meadow.

Police secured the area and told neighbors to stay in their homes while the SWAT team mobilized.

Two hours later, negotiators convinced the 61-year-old to come out of his house and surrender.

The man was taken into protective custody on a mental hold.

No one was hurt.
