Two men arrested in connection with drive-by shooting

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Two men are in custody in connection with a drive-by shooting Friday in the Larson Housing area.

Deputies were called to the area just before 8 p.m. for reports of shots fired. A home in the 1100 block of Larson Boulevard had been hit with at least one bullet, as had a car parked outside.

According to witnesses, two cars, a dark Honda and a white passenger car, were seen leaving the area shortly after the shots were fired.

The cars were not found in the area, and couldn't be seen on surveillance footage.

A deputy patrolling in Moses Lake Saturday night spotted a car that matched the description of the dark Honda. The deputy tried to pull the Honda over, but the driver of the car sped away and led the deputy on a chase before stopping the car. The passenger of the car, later identified as 21-year-old Brandon Medina Perez of Mattawa, was soon caught by an officer. Perez had a handgun and drug paraphernalia on his person.

The driver of the Honda, 22-year-old Daniel Alcala of Quincy, was arrested and is being held at the Grant county Jail for negligent driving and driving with a suspended license. Perez is also being held at the Grant County Jail for altering the identification marking on a firearm and drug possession.

Deputies are still investigating the connection between the two men and the shooting.
