LENORE, Idaho - Sad news in the story of an Orofino teen reported missing after prom:17-year-old Kristian Perez died in a car crash Wednesday afternoon.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff's office responded to a report of a possibly suicidal male driving near Lenore, Idaho this afternoon.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office confirmed they had received a call from the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office of a report of Perez taking his parents vehicle, a white 1999 Chevy Tahoe, without their permission.
Investigation showed the Tahoe to be driving west bound on Sunnyside Bench Road at a high rate of speed with Perez' family following the Tahoe.
