SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane's 79th Annual Armed Forces Torch Light Parade, the biggest in the country, will take place Saturday night.
We got a sneak peek at this year's Lilac Festival Float designed by Mike Moore.
The theme of this year's float, which is designed by Mike Moore, is celebrating our heroes. It will honor our nation's military, police, fire, and EMT's.
We also met this year's Lilac Festival Queen, August Corppetts.
The Gonzaga Prep senior says she has a new appreciation for what the Lilac Festival is all about.
“It's extremely important,” said Corppetts. “The cornerstone of our festival is our mission statement, which is honoring our military, recognizing our youth, and showcasing our region, and we are just really excited about that.”
Every year, the parade begins with a fly-over by a Fairchild KC-135 Strato Tanker.
The Torch Light Parade will kick off downtown on Saturday at 7:45 p.m.
