"Who knows how long he laid there," Mike's dad, Bob said.
Based on Dressel's injuries The Spokane County Sheriff's Office said his death does not appear to be natural.
Monday night deputies received several reports of a man staggering and falling down on Country Homes Blvd.
Detectives are trying to figure out if Dressel was hit by a car or if his death was the result of falling down.
Bob Dressel said his son was enjoying retirement, having worked 20 years for Honeywell.
"It's just a big shock, at his age. The worst part is going before for the kids go, it's a shock to us," Dressel added.
In addition to following up on tips, Detectives will be examining toxicology results and the autopsy report to piece together what happened.
Lab results could take several weeks to get back.
"We're anxious to get the answers and find out what happened," Dressel said.
