Police searching for robbery suspect in North Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - Hot Tottie's robbery

Spokane Police are searching for a man who barged into a coffee stand, pepper sprayed an employee and stole her vehicle Monday morning in North Spokane.

Police say the suspect went to the coffee stand "Hot Tottie's" at Atlantic and Francis, jumped through an open window of the shop and confronted employees while brandishing a knife. He then tried for the cash register but was unsuccessful.

"His intent when he came up to the window was to rob the business, things didn't go exactly as he thought they would go so he therefore had to adapt to the situation," Spokane Police Lieutenant Scott Mullenix said.

The man then pepper sprayed an employee and stole her vehicle. He ditched the vehicle at Division and Lyons where police are searching for him.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's. He's around 5 feet, 9 inches tall and was wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and black stocking cap when the incident occurred.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery are asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
