Oregonian surveys Spokane on Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Portland State Vikings and the Oregon Ducks are headed to eastern Washington to play WSU on back to back weeks September 13th and 20th, so the Oregonian newspaper is conducting a survey to find out what people like best about Spokane.

The questions range from "what's your favorite section of the Centennial Trail," to "what's your favorite local lake?" Takers of the survey even have the chance to tell people the best secret of the locals.

It's all designed to help Oregon residents learn more about the town many of them will soon be visiting.

"That's kind of what we're hoping is that folks will see what Spokanites like, because that's what this is. It's a poll that Spokane people can be a part of," says Tim Robinson of Visit Spokane.

He helped the paper create the survey and wants those visiting to realize the progress Spokane has made in recent years.

"When writers come from out of town who have never been here they say holy cow, what a hidden gem. This is just a terrific place. It's something locals have always known."
